Lunar New Year arrives with the vibrant energy of the Year of the Horse. Beginning on February 17, 2026, it will be celebrated across Asian communities around the world. This festival marks a meaningful moment of renewal as people travel great distances to reunite with their families and honor long-standing traditions. They share hopes that the year ahead will be fulfilling and prosperous.

The Fort Drum Regional Health Planning Organization (FDRHPO) has successfully completed its one-year pediatric oral health pilot program, funded by a Fidelis Care rural health innovation grant focused on preventive care. The initiative, launched to address persistent barriers to pediatric dental care in the North Country, resulted in substantial increases in preventive oral health services and education.

Fidelis Care celebrated the grand reopening of its newly renovated Flushing Community Office with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring local leaders and community partners. The office is fully staffed with culturally sensitive, multilingual representatives who can help answer questions about enrolling, renewing, or understanding plan benefits.

National Pharmacy Week is a time to recognize the vital role pharmacists play in healthcare. We are educators, advocates, and problem-solvers. We are part of the care team, and we are committed to improving members’ lives. As we celebrate the week, I’m proud to reflect on my journey as a pharmacist and the incredible work being done by the Fidelis Care pharmacy team to support our members.

Hispanic Heritage Month is a time of reflection, celebration, and unity. For me, it is deeply personal, a reminder of the strength, resilience, and cultural pride that defines our community. It is also a call to action to honor our heritage not only with words, but through efforts that uplift the health and well-being of Hispanic families across New York and beyond.

To promote community health and wellness and the importance of staying connected with friends and neighbors, Fidelis Care has announced dates for its annual Unity street festival series. Beginning with the original “Unity in the Heights” event in 2011, the series has expanded across the state with a variety of local partners.

As a first-generation immigrant from China, I have lived in the beautiful United States for 24 years. For 18 of those years, my stethoscope has touched the heartbeat of New York City where nearly 15 percent of its population is of Asian heritage.
